Via 3L has an international freight forwarding division handling door-to-door transport by road, sea and air. The United Kingdom is different from our other European routes in one key respect: the country left the EU customs union in 2021.
The usual route runs across continental Europe to a North Sea or Channel port (for example Rotterdam, Zeebrugge or Calais), where the truck continues to the United Kingdom either by ferry or via the Channel Tunnel. Every shipment now needs export and import customs declarations, plus a reference pre-lodged in the UK’s Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) — without correct paperwork, a truck cannot board the ferry or the tunnel.
